WindFloat®
The 4th generation WindFloat® product portfolio consists of the WindFloat T tubular design and WindFloat F flat panel design. Both designs are a semi-submersible, three-column floating platform compatible with any standard offshore wind turbines and suitable for deployment in waters deeper than 40 m.
The WindFloat® advantage
WindFloat® technology allows wind farms to be optimally located, independent of depth and seabed conditions, enabling customers to access previously untapped sites with higher quality wind resources and minimum impact to stakeholders or the environment.
- The WindFloat T is in its 4th generation and has been operational since 2011. This widely recognized tubular design has set the standard in the industry and is now the most bankable and reliable floating foundation in the market.
- The WindFloat F leverages on the 4th generation design heritage, sharing many of the same characteristics with the WindFloat T, yet holds a number of complementary features for project developers to consider, including pontoon-based buoyancy for low draft wind turbine integration.
The WindFloat T and the WindFloat F offer a complementary set of characteristics that ensures we can recommend the optimal configuration, considering project-specific constraints and opportunities.
Our projects
The WindFloat T is operating in Portugal and Scotland with a market leading 75MW installed and 105 MW cumulative capacity targeted to be generating power by 2024. Principle Power is supporting its customers with a multi-GW pipeline in Europe, Asia, and the United States, with the first large-scale projects entering service in the middle of the decade.
